Trail Ride Report
Our Labor Day Ride was a joint ride with the Lone Rangers at Poverty Draw. We had a total of 18 brave riders who aren’t afraid of a little rain. Pat was at camp to welcome the incoming campers and help them find that perfect camp spot. You know, the one you can get out of it if rains really hard. Randy was ready and willing to lead us into some country that was new to most of us. He even had an extra slicker to loan out. He also gave us a little lesson on using our new GPS’s. Yep, GPS101! We had a beautiful dry ride on Saturday. We followed the canyons and saw some awesome scenery. The flowers were beautiful! We made it back to camp before the rain set in. However, the potluck dinner was postponed until Sunday due to rain . Sunday’s ride was again very pretty and dry. The dry weather held out for our potluck dinner. Ray made us some of his famous Dutch oven biscuits and peach cobbler. Once again, our potluck was as good or better than any buffet restaurant in town. Our October ride will be back in the desert north of Wickenburg at Sophie’s Flat. This is a new area to us so we’ll be doing some pre-riding there. Call me if you’d like to go up and help pre-ride. See the directions under the calendar of events. Judy 623 465-1234 or cell 602 510-7775. I will be out of town Sept 30-Oct 4. Happy Trails! |
