PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

What a great summer!  A few of us lucky ladies loaded up the horses and spent the summer in Cool Colorado.  We revisited a few of our favorite places and found some new wonderful areas to explore.  Colorado is such a wonderful beautiful state and I strongly recommend it as a summer riding vacation.  Of course, it is a "vertical" state so some of the trails are challenging.  Nothing our Foxtrotters can't handle tho!  We met up with some of our friends from Missouri and Arkansas at Horse Ranch Park in Crested Butte.  We all agree that is the most beautiful riding of our trip.  Yes, we did get rained on quite a bit.  However, the rain is welcome to get us all out of the drought we have been experiencing for too long.

A big round of applause is due to Mike for doing a great job on the newsletter while we were gone.  He sure comes up with some interesting articles to share with us.  If anyone has an article to share, please send it on to either myself or Mike to post in the newsletter.

Also we are still taking classified ads.

If any of you subscribe to the "Trailrider Magazine" you'll see a picture of June Clark, Gary VanWagonen, and me on page 55 of the Sept/Oct issue.  This was taken in Colorado last summer.  This is my favorite magazine and they give a lot of good trail riding tips and also list places to ride in all states.  They often have articles about gaited horses.  If you are interested in trail riding, this magazine could be for you!

We have many fun events coming up.  We will be riding at Little Eldon near Flagstaff this month.  In November we'll have our annual Thanksgiving dinner.  We're in for quite a treat.  Sandy and Lynn Fitch have invited us to their ranch in St David.  This is great riding in the Dragoon Mountains.  Hope to see you all there!
